- Hello Everyone

Hope that everyone is having a great summer so far. I am right now on my computer, and really want to overclock it to about 4.0-4.5 ghz. I right now have a Fractal Design Define Refine R4 case, which comes with air cooled fans inside. For my CPU, I have an i5-4670k cooled with the Noctua NH-D14 fan. I don't know much about over clocking, much less have experience with it, and I was simply wondering whether it is a safe thing to keep with my current cooling system and over clock, or upgrade my cooling system, or to just not over clock.

Thanks

I consider OC'ing to be safe as long as you don't let the temps. get too high. Stay below 80*C. for gaming and normal usage and stay below 90*C. during stress testing.

You have an OC capable CPU and an excellent cooler. What mobo do you have? You need a mobo with a Z87/Z97 chipset in order to OC.

Here is a thread that helped me to get to 4.6 GHz with the rig in my sig: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1722630/intel-god-quick-dirty-guide-4ghz-haswell.html
