i'm looking to build a home theater PC for under $500. I don't need keyboard or mouse or anything like that. I also don't need a very large hard drive. I would like it to be quiet and small if possible. Anyone have any suggestions?

Considering you're doing a "home theater", can I assume that you're going to hook it up to a tv?

- FM2+ motherboard,
- AMD A10 7800K
- Cooler master hyper 212 evo (for silence)
- 4 or 6 gigs of ram
- Pick the smalles possible case that will fit your motherboard
- WD green 1TB
- won't need graphics card this way.
Far within your budget with plenty of room to spare.

As for everybody else, I didn't choose AMD because I'm biased towards it, he could go for a core i3, however AMD's heterogenous system architecture works really great for home cinemas!

Will you be storing files on it (video, music) or streaming from another source? Add a HDD to this if you need space.
