Hello fellow Tom's Hardware users,

I am reaching out as a representative of ENU Inc. with a question regarding installing Windows 8.1 install on a H97M-E/CSM board. We keep receiving an install issue where the system installs the OS, restart, and then pop up with an error saying that some error occurred during install and that we will need to restart and continue the install. We have tried various things to fix this issue and they are as follows:

• We have swapped all the parts and know that it is not hardware related.

• We have installed Windows 7 and know that it does work.

• We have flashed the BIOS to the latest build.

• We have checked our image of 8.1 which we used to install our OS' with on our image sever.

• We did try to install 8.1 off of the DVD but that yielded the same results.

All the parts are compatible and everything has been check. Google results are less than helpful at this point. We are wondering if anyone else has seen any issues with the H97 chipset or this board in particular with Windows 8.1. Any knowledge about this particular anomaly would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
