minecraft with 512x pack lags

I just got a gtx 770 for my computer with i7 4770k and high quality parts, and I can play payday 2 and skyrim with ULTRA settings. I decided to test minecraft with a 512x512 pack. I was getting 30-45 fps average with a max of 60, and I've heard that the gtx 770 is supposed to get 100 fps with 512 pack, shaders, and ULTRA settings. What is happening?

Since 512x512 is the most detailed resource pack and also since Java is a piece of crap when it comes to Minecraft, you might want to dumb it down to 256x256, at lowest 128x128 considering your specs.
