yes I know these are probably done to death but I figured... why not.

So I'm trying to build the best computer I can for video rendering (Premiere, After Effects, ect..) but, of course, on a budget. I by no means expect a $2000 performance out of my $500 budget but I would like to get the best build possible out of what I can.

Budget: $500

Here's what I'm looking at so far and it's around budget when not counting my ssd/hdd or video card.

Tower:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6531504&CatId=1509
$60

MB:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HPQ0Q74/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
$80

CPU cooling:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1284316&CatId=798
$35

Ram:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3473448&CatId=11483
$80 (though ideally i'll get more ram or eventually get more ram)

CPU:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8754569&CatId=11532
$170

So I need to keep the system, as a whole, as close to $500 as I can.
The SSD I'm looking at is about $130 and I really don't know about graphics yet.

I'm hoping the community here can help me piece this together a little better.
Recommend any alternatives to the above mentioned hardware.
Maybe a cheaper SSD (the one I mentioned before is 240GB)
And a good GPU that won't break my budget too hard.

I'm entirely willing to accept that to reach my goal I may have to get what I can on this build and say a paycheck or two down the road get the rest.

The above build, I feel, will leave me with plenty of room to spare for future upgrades when that time comes but from what I can tell the current build will beat out standards for a few years to come.

Anyway, thank you for even bothering to read this and replying if you do so.

No Windows needed. I have my own retail copy. If you look at my above list it includes PSU but not GPU or SSD. So my hope is that maybe there are some alternative parts I can get to replace the ones I listed that maybe won't be much of a downgrade.

My problem here is that I haven't really kept up with the "what's what" of all this. I gathered the above list with the help of a good friend but he won't budge on the list Lol. Like I guess I want a K series as it can be overclocked, but what's the next gen down from the above mentioned? You know what I mean?

Just to keep everyone in the loop. I've decided to go with the AMD A10-6800K Quad Core Unlocked APU to save around $25-35. In what I've read (from a few sources) the AMD A10-7850K X4 BE W performed only slightly better. This is the kinda alternatives I'm looking for. I know I can check it all on my own was just hoping for 3rd party input.

Here's where I've landed. I'm going to keep looking for a few places I could trim. I've decided to simply use the on-board GPU until later down the road when I feel I can spare some more money for a better dedicated GPU. The price, thus far, is $569.

AMD A10-7850K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus A88X-PLUS ATX FM2+ Motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
Thermaltake TR2 500W ATX Power Supply

I had considered going with the 6800K because the 7850K performs only marginally better in terms of CPU. But from what I can figure out the difference in this will be with the on-board GPU. If anyone can refute please do so as switching to the 6800k would save me $25-35.

I decided on the Asus A88X-PLUS over the MSI A88X-G43 as it seems newer generation and can handle more varying speeds of ram. And it's only about $12 more.

For SSD I decided to spend the extra $30-40 and get twice the space I had originally planned (128GB), I think in the long run I'll be happier I did. If anyone can recommend a comparable model/brand for less let me know.

And would love some general takes on the Tower and PSU.

For ram, I'll need to buy ram as I can (money$$) but I want to have at least 32GB when I am done. I'll be doing video, audio, and photo work. And I would like ample amounts, too, to create a RAMDISK to act as a scratch disk.

When this is built my wife will be getting the current rig I'm on. It has a 650W PSU and she won't really be needing it. Considering saving myself a few dollars and ordering a lesser one (say 300W or slightly more) and putting my 650W in the new rig.

All thoughts, comments, suggestions welcome.
