After using dban to wipe my hard drive, my computer no longer recognizes my hdd. I cant even find it in the bios, I also have no bootable version of windows. after a lot of research, I've only found a few cases similar to this, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Think dban shouldn't be used on hard drives your going to keep, that may have caused your hard drive to die if like the guy above said was on its last legs, perhaps because from what I heard it writes a hell of a lot of times on sectors of your hard drive, there's warning for dban that will decrease the lifespan of any harddrive it erases on.

You may have to get a new hard drive and re-install your operating system. If you have money I'd recommend SSD drive a samsung 840 evo or 850 pro 1TB ITs expensive though but should last pretty much 10 years if you got the money its good. Just never dban it. Dban I would only use for hard drives your going to get rid of and don't want your personal details in the wrong hands.

sorry to hijack this a second but wondering does anyone know what this info means? 7 days dban and this is the end result https://www.dropbox.com/s/yofih0mjm1dgold/20140713_144421.jpg wish it would at least confirm it erased properly.

Its old hardware since endo f 1990's but looks like it did the job, just wish it gave me a has completed sucessfully. Even tried deep scan with recuva and found nothing. lol yeah can you believe it, I dban'd it because I had to send it back to Amazon for refund, HDD regenerator was showing issues with that hard drive so I contacted Amazon and poof went back, but had my details on it so hence dban :)
