hello,

I am looking to get a new motherboard. the new Asus Z97 motherboards have intrigued me. not the Gryphon though. I got intrigued by Asus Z97 Sabertooth Mark 1 and mark 2. I have read some articles online and it seems that mark 2 is technically better than mark 1. but, mark 1 is priced much higher. can someone explain to me why it is more expensive when mark 2 is supposedly better?

Mark 1 - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

Mark 2 - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

They might have improved the methods and techniques used to produce the components of the motherboard and stick them all together, so it means a lower cost to produce and an improvement of the quality.

If you go to asus.com, look for both motherboards and add them to compare you will notice a little difference: - TUF Thermal Armor with Flow Valve
This piece of steel may be the cost difference.

Armor, an additional ethernet port, and SATA express are the biggies (think the armor alone is prob about $60 or more (they have armor kits for the gryphon, think thos are close to $50)
