Hi there. I need a new PC for my home office to replace my current one which is around 7+ years old. I threw together and AMD and Intel setup (more or less the same in most respects) and this is what I came with. The PC won't be used for much apart from emails, browsing, and basic things like that. Nothing serious with videos either, although it may (or may not) be used for some Photoshopping. I wouldn't base my build on it being used for that though. Anyway, I came up with this:

For now because I'm not in the States, it's easier for me to use Amazon than the other sellers, but I was just wondering if these are decent builds or if I can do better for the price. Also, I hear that it's often better to buy pre-built PCs if they're just going to be used in an office setting. If you know of any pre-built PCs with specs equal to or more than these and for a price that's equal to or less than this (roughly), I'd be happy to know about it.
Also, I'll wager the AMD build is better even though cheaper, correct?
I also had this for an AMD build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RntkWZ
but I figured that I didn't have much use for the GPU, so I went for a CPU with on-board graphics instead.

I would if your using this for a work pc to add the extra ram and larger hard drive. I would also look at the smaller itx cases. some of them are so small you can place the pc on the side of a desk. if you have extra funding put in a cheap video card like nvidia 610-640 gpu and pick up another monitor. running two monitor set up lets you put photoshop or word on one screen and ie or another program on the other screen without having to minimize or close windows. great if you have to call and write or look up info in the middle of working on something else.
