Is My Math Right?

I was hoping someone could confirm my math/assumptions for me.

My PSU has a 12V rail max of 18A for a total maximum supply of 216W. My processor is an Intel i5-3330S with a TDP of 65W. My WD harddrive has a 7.5W active dissipation. I'll assume the rest of my barebones system consumes 30-40W at max. I plan to purchase a Radeon R7 240 with a maximum power consumption of 75W.

At max, the 12V drain should be no more than (65 + 7.5 + ~40 + 75 ~= 188W.

If this math and assumption are correct, my PSU should be able to handle the card.

yes, and it can handle more because some components also get power from the 3v and 5v rails.

What power supply are you using? Make sure it is rated to a high enough temperature, good ones will be rated to 40 or 50C which will be fine, cheaper ones are often rated at 20 or 25C and lose 1-3W per degree C above their rating so a 300W unit rated at 20C with 3W/C would only be a 240W unit at 40C which is a reasonable temperature for a PC case. Keep this in mind especially if you are going to be running that close to the limit!

as you did not post the brand and model of the power supply I take a guest that it the stock one. if it is the stock power supply your better off picking up a cosair 430w unit. cheap stock units when loaded t near there rated limit have more often then not popped with a loud bang and smoke...taking the system with them.

Thank you for reminding me about temperature dissipation, it's been a long time since I had to take E&M. The card has been working without problem at an average load of 30-50% and a peak load of 80-90%, though the card does get a little hot. I'll continue to keep an eye on GPU and PSU temperatures for the next few weeks as I test various applications.
