Dead Biostar Motherboard?

When I plug my power supply into the 24pin slot on my motherboard the fans turn on for a second and then stop, i've tried multiple times and now nothing happens. Is there ANYTHING I could be doing wrong besides it being dead? I've had power supply issues before this came up, this is my first build and having things not work is very discouraging. :(

make sure on your build that the mb not grounding out. that you use the brass mb standoffs. also on new mb near the cpu or the edge of the mb is a 4/8 pin power plug. make sure you plugged the extra cpu power plug in. if your rig wont turn on inside of the pc. pull the motherboard and see if it will post with onboard video outside of the case. one last new builder errors check the motherboard cpu guild online make sure the motherboard and cpu will work together also check the bios rev needed for the motherboard to post. with the newer intel cpu dropping some of the older mb wont post without a bios upgrade.
