I'm looking to build a gaming PC and have a budget of $1000 max. I really don't know what I'm doing. Will I be able to put everything together myself? And what is the best set up I can get for under $1000

You're definitely going to need to at least make a list of what you need to buy before buying anything. $1000 is a lot of money down the drain if you don't do enough research and mess something up because you didn't know what you're doing. An OS, monitor, keyboard/mouse, speakers and other peripherals can quickly eat away at your $1000 budget

I also recommend this build. I was originally going to make a rig with these exact specs, but after building a $600 light photo/video editing pc with a slight edge for gaming, I decided to majorly beef up my planned rig. All in all, these are great components for a good gaming rig that should handle pretty well for a few years.
