Need help fixing brothers computer!!

My brother has this nearly 6ish year old asus desktop that he bought from the store. (http://www.asus.com/Desktops/Essentio_CG1330/specifications/) <- specs of the computer from the store. I replaced the gpu however with a gtx 650 as a Christmas gift a while back. It worked perfectly until this week. The desktop powers on, but there is no display recognized from the computer itself (black screen on monitor). I replaced the PSU with a newish one that I know works. That didn't fix the problem. Please help! Suggest any sort of fixes/tests I can do to figure out this problem!

I was thinking it could of been the board since the USB mouse and keyboard will not even power on. Maybe it's time for me to convince him to save up some money for his own custom rig.

So he wants to just replace the mobo, could you just buy a new compatible board and just plug in the HDD and the CPU in and it works? or would you need a new windows install?
