I don't know if this is the right section so please forgive me if it's wrong.

I recently decided to switch to PC gaming. I switched over from Mac to PC so please bear with me as I don't know anything about computers.

My brand new out-of-the-box pc (CyberpowerPC Gamer Supreme SLC6600 is how it was listed) seems to turn on correctly (fans and lights turn on), but the monitor (Yamakasi DS270 SE 27" 2560x1440) displays a black screen (bcklighted) on DVI and doesn't read HDMI at all.

I opened it and everything seems to be connected, however I don't know what any of it means or which parts are which.

Some sites depict a specific grphics card. It holds an NVidia GTX 780.

are you sure it is connected to your graphics card? maybe you connected it on the integrated video card of your motherboard.

Based on the pictures of the card online, I think I have it in the right spot. On the inside I didn't see anything that looks like it but on the outside the plugs natch the description.
