2560x1080p reccomended graphics card??

Solution

The R9-290X averages roughly 6% better than an R9-290 (depending on game sampling) but costs $100 more.

The GTX780Ti averages about 15% better (comparing top-end models to be fair) but costs $250 more.

Put another way, comparing top-end cards with the R9-290 at 100%:

R9-290 ($400)
R9-290X ($500) + 6%
GTX780Ti ($650) + 15%

So the GTX780Ti is over 60% more money for 15% more performance. Ouch. I'm comparing top-end cards of good value not random cards.

Nice. I thought I would have to sli with this resolution. Thanks :)

The R9-290 is the best value by far. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_290/26.html

I like these three the best:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-1003622sr

They are all great cards and quite similar, however I give the nod to ASUS because they have a BACKPLATE which prevents flexing that can damage the circuit board, and may help damage to the motherboard by forcing support stress to the rear where the card screws on instead of pulling on the PCIe connector.

Make sure to get the "OC" version as there are slightly cheaper versions that can't necessarily be overclocked to the same level (may have binned GPU's and/or a few cheaper components).
