Will my new laptop run games very well?

So today I managed to convince my parents to buy me a new laptop for gaming. We checked around on the hp website, and then called support because we found a glitch in pricing, and the support guy recommended this laptop: http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/E1U67AV?HP-ENVY-15z-j100-Notebook-PC-ENERGY-STAR- so based on what he said, we ordered it with a AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M Accelerated Processor and the 2GB AMD Radeon HD 8750M Discrete graphics. How well will this be able to run games? If possible, I'd love to be able to run Skyrim at at least medium settings, but that would probably be asking a lot. Also, I heard that when you download Amnesia from Steam, it may stop you if you don't have a good graphics card. Would that happen on this laptop? Other than that I just mostly play small games, and I assume it would be able to run Sims 3 and it's expansions rather smoothly (Which didn't occur on my old laptop)

Provided you're not much into eye candy, that laptop would be able to run modern games at low settings and at lowered resolution of maybe a 1024x768.

It's good enough to run most of the games well on low settings. Skyrim should be no exception, and it should run well too.
