disk cleanup will not empty/delete web client/publisher temporary files or compress old files. How do I fix? I have already tried locating and deleting the temp internet files, but I am still seeing the same amount of data in these 2 areas that won't clear. HELP!!!!

Did you reboot the computer after clearing out the temporary Internet files? You could try CCleaner from Piriform and see if that helps. It is a free download.

Either disable the Web Client service or change it to manual start, and then re-run Disk Cleanup

Do as I said above. and also "Compress old files" will not be deleted, as that section in XP is to make the files take up less space by compressing them, and not deleting them. You would usually only select that checkbox in Disk Cleanup if you are running totally out of disk space.
