BF4: I'm just recently getting kicked from games due to a memory error. I have always run ultra smoothly till now.

Getting kicked for memory error. I've changed nothing since last stable. Started happening Sunday before Dragon's Teeth DLC, but continues. Sometimes right away, other times all the way to the end of a round, but I have not been able to finish a round since last week.

Memory Error Here.

  1. You get kicked from the game server or does the game crash as well?
Is this a similar problem as yours?

Game crashes as well. My error message is different. I originally posted from mobile and didn't realize the details were cut off from the title. I've since updated the description :) thanks for the input!!
  3. You tried disabling crossfire?

Other than that, try updating DirectX, if you haven't done that already.
    EDIT:
Also, this error didn't happen before the DLC? Have you tried verifying the game files?

There was no update available for DirectX. I did not try re-installing.

That's correct, this happened for the first time on Sunday, before the DLC.

What do you mean by 'verifying the game files'?
  5. Odd, it looks like you simply ran out of RAM on the GPU; looks like 4GB has been allocated, and when D3D tries to get more, it can't, and crashes. I assume your GPU's are 2GB each?

Its known the Mantle backend has a VRAM memory leak; if you are using, try using DX instead (especially since DX is faster in BF4 anyway).
  6. Verifying meant to repair the game files. Not sure if it will help though.

Do check this thread over at EA. Others faced the problem too.

Fix was just change the browser you were using to enter the game. If you're using Chrome, use Firefox.
See if the problem gets resolved.

Yes, the GPUs are 2GB each and I am running DirectX.

Suppose I'll try to do a total reinstall of DirectX when I get home this evening. It just bothers me that this problem only just started after I had changed nothing at all. Did I possibly update BF4/Origin without noticing? Was there an update last week? Keep in mind, this happened once before (Sunday) the DLC this week.
  8. So it happened even before the DLC update?
Well, updates may happen automatically without you knowing it. It could be that. Did you try launching the game through another browser?
  9. Again, it looks like the GPU's are just running out of VRAM, though its odd that's happening in the first place. Which graphical backend are you using?
