I have a Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W 80+ Bronze
It runs my one GTX 700 OC great. I just scored another GTX 770, but I'm thinking I shouldn't bother installing it until I get another PSU. Any recommendations?

Hi - I wouldn't risk it. realhardtechx suggests an 850w PSU for gtx 770's in SLI. That is more than
really needed. NVidia listed power needs for the 770 the same as the 780, but the 770 does use less.

So, 2 770's will run fine with a good quality 750w PSU, I think 650 is cutting it too close.

He needs 2x6-pin and 2x8-pin that is needed now with an 850W as mentioned. Probably most 850W PSU's would work. No point looking at a 750W since he needs a new one anyway Like THIS:

More info (if desired. just recommends 850W):

Nothing wrong with an 850, that's prob what i would get. But, a good 750 will work fine. The NVidia power need
of 42 +12v amps for a 770(overstated) is the same they list for the 780. A system with a 770
needs only 34 +12v amps not 42.

The legitreview you linked confirms 750 is more than enough if you look at the chart showing 552w
used for gtx770 SLI. Like most of the sites and GPU mfg's they list more PSU power than is needed
to allow for older PSU designs that don't have enough +12v amps or inferior PSU's that don't deliver
their publ specs. They have also bumped their power needs to allow for bitcoin miners as bitcoinmining
is far more taxing on a PSU than gaming.

So, there is a point for OP in looking for a 750 if he wants to save some $$. Good quality 750's also
come with 4 pcie connectors.

the only difference is the wattage, but the 750w will deliver enough power, but the 850w might save money in the long run as it will be more efficient.

For an xtra $15 I'd get the 850, would be worth it. But, the 850 is not more efficient than the 750, they are both bronze level PSU's, same efficiency.

psu's are most efficient at around 50%-60% usage, and the 850w would be closer to that than the 750w.

Ah, that is true, but not what you said above. I wouldn't want OP or others to think efficiency is tied to
total power as it is not. If the PC components need 300w at a point in time, then at 80% eff the PSU
will pull 375w from the wall whether it's an 850 or 750, etc.

I would still opt for an 850 if the diff is only $15. An 850 won't have to work as hard as a 750, thus
producing less heat, fan shud run less, also making it quieter, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions!
How about a Corsair 1200W AX1200I ATX Power Supply 80 Plus Platinum?
Obviously it will work, but is it too overkill? I'll also be supporting Folding@Home.
Oh...and hopefully it will fit in my case... Cooler Master HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Mid-Tower Computer Case - ATX, mATX, (C283-2094)

1200w is a bit overkill, and only needed if planning on adding a 3rd card (not recommended) but it will work just fine.
