Mixing of RAM

I have Kingstone 2GB DDR3 RAM (kvr1333d3n9/2g-sp).
I want to buy G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (F3-10666CL9S-4GBXL).

Does this 2 RAM will mix properly and work without any problem.? Or I need find some other ram.

My Motherboard is INTEL DH61H0

Actually the Kingstone RAM (kvr1333d3n9/2g-sp) is not available thats why i have to fing some other RAM. So can i try mixing the G.Skill ram..??

Best bet is to buy a 2x4GB package of DRAM, there's no guarantee that adding a stick to what you already have will work...Even getting an identical stick of the same exact model offers no guarantee. The forums are full of folks having problems trying to mix sticks

If you have a duel channel system with four slots, will you have issues mixing as long as you keep identical sticks in the same channel? I have 4 GB in a server at work and I have two slots left, I want to add another 8GB.

You can, Yes. That seems to be a popular myth that all will be fine if you put the sticks in different channels, which is simply False....DRAM could care less where it's put, each stick of DRAM is an individual 64 bit device, when place in dual channel mode (or Tri or quad), all the DRAM is seen as one single 128bit device and treated accordingly (or in the case of Tri a single 192 bit device - quad sees it a 256bit device)......hence all sticks have to play together.... That's why DRAM is available in an assortment of sizes....and...the bigger the package the more costly i.e. a 4stick set commonly costs more than two 2 stick sets of the same model - it takes more testing to find 4 sticks that all play nice than it does two, hence the higher price (from the additional testing)

ok so I have (2) 2GB sticks in there now so my only upgrade option is to get (2) more identical sticks giving me a maximum of 8GB. I could pull the existing chips and put a whole new set of larger chips in but I don't know if Server 2012 will bark at me. it seems very intolerant of hardware changes of any sort.
