i7 4790k Cpu idle at 36

hey guys i was wondering if this is an ok temp i just came from and amd 8350 and it idled at 30C is this a normal idle temp for my i7 4790k

srry if this is short i got to monitor my cpu closely and in a bit of a rush. if you need more info plse let me know

unless it was the wrong bios, it should be fine. open it up and pull out the cmos battery, unplug the 24-pin and 8-pin connectors so the board has absolutely no power, let it sit like that for a minute or 2, then plug it all back in, reset the cmos jumper, and try again.

idk no os yet. but after i went to put the windows 8 disk in to install i for got to disconnect all but my ssd drive for my os so powered the system off and disconnected my 500gb HDD and powered up my system and now it just does a reset loop and i cant seam to figure out why i just updated my bios oh my mobo is a msi z97 gaming 5

ok i will try that but there is a small panel on my mobo that displays numbers as it boots it will display 63 then just restart i have googled it some one said its somthing called a post code and im not sure what that means

no they are not backwards the notches in the fan connections line up with the ones on the splitter im just happy it works now thanks for helping me out and answering my questions and i think the bios reset helped

update:
it did work now its in the reboot loop again it keeps reboting at the POST code 63 i had to take it to the local computer repair shop in town today so i hope they can get it fixed. i have pored $2000+ in to this rig *sigh* guess im stuck with my consoles now

i never like to bring my pc to a shop unless i have exhausted all resources which i did and i think when the power flickered on and off during the power outage last night it damaged something also but i do have my pc plugged into a surge protector

i know its old

so it was 12 bent pins a power surge and a short circuit is what happened oh and my 1kw PPU is fried due to the surge it faild the power grid test ( i live in a rual area and the power here is dirty) and i was told that this power surge was one of the biggist that this town has ever had and was advised to get a UPS witch is what i am doing. and the board isnt covered by warranty of course ( the bent pins where my fault. But my Cooler Master V1000 PSU was able to get RMA
