sir i have an internet connection which is connected via a router, i would like to extend this connection and i have a dlink modem+router with me so please suggest me a way.

Solution
U can use the Dlink as a hub - assuming it has at least 4 Ethernet ports

Just plug the Ethernet cable from the router into one of the 4 ports (ignoring the other cable ports - expect power of course) - this then gives you 3 extra Ethernet ports.

If you want to attach more computers to your router than the number of LAN ports, you will need to buy a switch. Attach the switch to one LAN port with an Ethernet cable then attach computers to the switch. It will be essentially the same as attaching directly to the router.
