I know the question has been asked before but it's never exactly the same situation so I decided to start another thread.

I've built a PC for my office a few months ago, the problem has always been there since I built the system.

When I come to the office and press the power button, the system powers on for a split second and then turns off immediately. After that happens, the system won't turn on when I press the button.

I fix it by unplugging the power cable, pressing and holding the power button for a couple seconds and then plug the power cable again. This fixes the situation almost all the time.

When the system manages to turn on, there are absolutely no problems and it works fine.

Here are the specs:

CPU: AMD A10 6800K APU
GPU: No discrete gfx card since the APU is more than enough for office usage
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz 8GB (Single stick)
HDD: Seagate SV35.5 1TB 7200rpm (two of these)
CASE&PSU: Asus Vento Mid Tower case with 450w PSU
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Tried another power cable, no difference.

Possibly needs the PSU replacing.

Try reseating all the wires from the power supply to the motherboard, drives etc. Check the voltages.
