well the easiest way is to download asus bios put it in a USB (place the bios directly in the usb key root, do not place it in a folder in usb key. I had problem with my M5a99x evo.)

Use the EZ Flash in the bios to open your usb drive and select the bios update.

The EZ flash is an bios utility? Open in bios menu?
I just take the latest bios file? Or i need to download more bios files?
This is the latest, M5A99X EVO R2.0 BIOS 2501

Hi,

All options for bios updating are very easy it all depends on what you feel comfortable with, download the latest bios file which is 2501 then choose the way you feel happiest doing it and keep the manual at hand, overclocking is going to be a little trial and error but the simple way would be to go in to the bios and up the cpu multiplier .5 at a time. the problem being with your cooler you don`t know what will be max u can hit is,you might only be able to go up to 4.3 before it becomes too hot and becomes unstable and to go higher you will need a AIO water cooler or a custom water setup. at some point you will need to up the voltage to the cpu and also you will have to set the llc, this cpu on that mobo will go to 5GHz with a corsair h100i and there is a YouTube vid that will show you exactly have to set your bios to achieve this. But for now you should only touch the cpu multiplyer. if you are serious about overclocking search Google for how to overclock on your mobo and with fx8350. any more ???? just ask.

Oke thanks for the info, but i can just turn turbo mode on. It will rise to 4.2. That is possible? Couse my pc case stay very cool at full load. Its a pretty nice cooler what i have.
I dont want to overclock it TO high. Couse i dont want/need watercooling. Maybe later but atm im not going to get it.
Just curious what is possible at my current setup.

Hey,

So with turbo boost to 4.2 GH i barely notice??Why is that?
Did a stress test with Unique heaven 11 CPU z hardware monitor etc. GPU max is 64 Celcius, CPU stays at 48 celsius.
12 case fans, 4 left side, 1 big one upper case, 1 front, 1 back, 2 memory fans, cpu fan.
So the temps dont rise HIGH or something. Could i OC the 8350 to 4.5 with my case and airflow withouth using Water cooling?

I have this same motherboard and have been following this thread. I downloaded 2501 and put it in my USB stick( when I opened up the USB stick from "My Computer" it was blank, no folders or anything) so I put the file in there and it shows it there.
When I go to EZ flash I see the USB stick but it shows no files on the right, even when highlighted.
Help?

Yes, I had seen that video before, in fact it was what I was going by when I discovered that though my thumb drive showed up in EZ Flash the file does not show up on the right...it's just blank.
Is there a certain kind of thumb drive that must be used?

Hi,

if you wish to use AI suite 2 all you need to do is download latest bios to desktop if they come in a zip file unpack them to desktop start AI suite and if it just flashes up check that its no still running in the bottom right hand corner of the task bar. If you wish to use flash drive just place unpacked file on flash drive and then place drive in the correct back usb port,it has to be the right one as only one will work and then go into bios to the flash part which i thinks is labeled tools but might be wrong and you should see able to see flash drive,if you cant see file on drive click on the flash drive and then hopefully you will be able to highlight the bios file and then be able to flash the bios by following the screen instructions.
