Can't play any videos. How to increase all over performance

KINDLY HELP UPGRADING P-4. CANT PLAY ANY VIDEOS SMOOTHLY. ALL DRIVERS LOADED. RUNNING XP SERVICE PACK-2. I have a p4 3.00GHz Prescott with core speed 1995.78 MHz, Multiplier x15.0(14-15), BUS speed 133.05MHz, Rated FSB 532.21MHz, MOBO P4S8X-MX, BIOS(American Megatrends Inc. V1006.002, 2005) , Graphic interface AGP v3.0 8x transfer rate, with PC3200 (512 x 2) RAM, 2.5 v both ,one166MHz-(lat-2.5), other 200MHz -(lat-3.0), with GPU-741_760_760GX_M661FX_ M661MX_M741. do i need a graphic card? kindly suggest any compatible budget one

You cannot play 1080p videos on that system. 720p could be possible but the integrated GPU is simply useless. You need an AGP video card which are no longer manufactured but maybe you could find one on-line. You need at least a Geforce 6200. But even then the CPU could simply be too weak especially on that motherboard.

Тhe PC is pretty old and weak but you should be able to play non HD videos with a video player. Most of youtube videos would not play smoothly. You really should get a new PC instead of trying to upgrade that one.

I do have an i3 laptop for me. That old one reserved for my 5 yr old kid. Just want to play some HD 720/1080 videos in that. but its not running even low res videos
