I bought parts to a PC I'm gonna build. But I bought an amd fx 8320 and an asus m5a97. Will these be compatible with each other? Would I have to update the bios on it? And if so, how do I do it? All of your help is appreciated. Thanks.

Solution
download bios from ASUS website: Make sure you don't have revision 2.0 before you download/flash bios:

It is good to flash bios for stability, fan graphs, etc...
To update the BIOS using EZ Flash 2:
1) You need a small USB 2.0 Flash Drive
2) Format the USB Drive (Fat 32/16 only with single partition)
3) Download the 1903 BIOS file to your desktop
4) Insert the USB Flash Drive into a USB 2.0 port
5) Unzip the BIOS .ZIP file to a New Folder on the USB Flash Drive
6) Select the Advanced Mode of the BIOS setup program
6) Go to the Tools Menu and Select the EZ Flash Utility, press [Enter] to enable it
7) press [Tab] to select the drive field
8) press the up and down arrow keys to select the USB Flash Drive, press [Enter]
9) press [Tab] to bring the folder with the BIOS .CAP file into field
10) press the up and down arrow keys to select the BIOS .CAP file
11) press [Enter] to perform the BIOS update procedure
12) reboot the system when done
11) load BIOS default values
12) From the BIOS exit menu select "Load Optimized Defaults"
