Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on upgrading my i3 2350m on my Asus x53E-BB31-CB to a i7 2670qm(came from a hp dv7). I've upgraded the asus's ram from 6gb to 8gb, now I was considering upgrading the processor as I already have it, would I need to upgrade bios? What else should I check? Both seem very compatible, same chipset, same gen.
Thank you!

It seems so, before you do, make sure that i3 isn't BGA, meaning that it's soldered to the motherboard. If it isn't then great you can replace it with the i7.

But, there are other things to make sure of besides the socket compatibility, make sure your power brick can support the extra 10W TDP from the i7. Also, your laptop will get hotter than before so if your doing cpu heavy stuff then get a laptop cooler.
