Frequency won't go past 3,4 GHz? 3570K and Ubuntu

So I stress all cpu cores to 100%. When I run cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq it shows 3400 MHz as the current frequency. I'm trying to overclock to 4,4 GHz.

More about frequency past ghz 3570k ubuntu
  1. try this one. http://www.webupd8.org/2009/10/cpu-z-for-ubuntu-cpu-g.html. found here. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1458277 a cpuz alike software. this should state the true running frequency! i suppose you try overclocking through bios.!

CPU-G shows all cores running at 3,4 GHz. I overclock through BIOS using this manual: http://www.overclock.net/t/1291703/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-asus-motherboards.

honestly, im not into Ubuntu. i dont know how or if overclocking has actually an impact on that OS.
  4. Apparently Linux has some trouble showing turbo boost frequencies. Used i7z, which showed that they are in fact running at 4,4 GHz. :-)
