intel for mantle?

i have bought a 4790k about a month ago and i still have a chance to return it, and im just wondering if maybe an amd cpu will be better for mantle gaming since they have 8 cores which mantle can take advantage of

No your CPU is strong enough that mantle will have no effect on performance. Basically mantle allows some of the CPU overhead to be rendered on the GPU and is not necessary with a CPU of sufficient speed. If you switch the CPU's out you will basically be making a performance compromise to use a feature of mantle you don't need.
