Approximate Purchase Date: next week

Budget Range: ~350$~400$

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, mobo, RAM

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I have a 600W PSU, so no power limitation. I already bought the GPU, a Sapphire Radeon R9 280x Dual-X OC, which I think it's pretty good, so I want a system that matches it so I don't have bottlenecks while gaming. I'm still not sure either to choose AMD or Intel for CPU, I read Intel performs better, so maybe intel. I hope you guys can help me on this!

Thanks in advance

The xeon is an equivalent to an i7 without integrated graphics or overclocking.

The i5-4670k is an overclocking i5 that can match the xeon when overclocked, but that would require an expensive cooler and there is no hyperthreading,

The i5-4440 will give great performance at a great price. Cheap and effective and in most cases their will not be a difference.

In other words xeon for editing or performance, i5-xxxk for overclocking fun and power, and i5-4440 for a good budget choice.
