Hey guys,

So I got a XLR Microphone (which also does mini usb but I feel XLR will be nicer quality (its the blue yeti pro)) and so I'm looking at some converters from XLR to mini usb.

I'd like something of quality, and so I looked at This

I'm not exactly sure what it does, but does it take an input of XLR and change it to mini usb so I can put it in my camera?

Thank You!!!

I will vote best answer If I get something really nice and detailed

More about : xlr mini usb converter

if you have an XLR microphone then what you need to hook it up to a computer is an audio interface.

what you picked out is an audio interface... although there are more of them available than just that one. some with less features, some with more.

you mention a camera... did you mean a portable camera such as a camcorder or did you mean a webcam recording from a pc? if its a camcorder then you would likely want something like this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/newsLetter/Professiona... but if its a webcam you will want to hook up to the pc via an audio interface.

alternatively... you could have a 48v phantom power supply such as these http://www.sweetwater.com/c959--Phantom_Power however they are analog output not digital so would be limited to using a 3.5mm connection not usb.

Yes I have a camera. Its a Nikon CoolPix 510, and for some reason there is no microphone jack on it, only a mini usb.... So I I'm not sure whether the mini usb port will accept a microphone and actually use it as a microphone, or I need a new camcorder, or use a GoPro or what. I am on a limited budget... I was also thinking about getting a shotgun mic and a usb adapter.. But I've heard really good reviews of the Yeti Pro

thats a camera. the mini usb is used to hook up to a tv to show a slideshow or to pull photos off on a computer. it is not for a mic.

likely you would need a camcorder with 3.5mm input for mic and then phantom power 48v like i sugested for camcorders (or you can use the desktop version... both work)

what are you using the camera for and why do you need a mic?
