Hey all,

Well i got my new Asus M5a99X motherboard and 8350 4.0 GH amd up and running.
Use speedfan, CPU-Z, AI suite 2, hardware monitor.

Started a test with Prime95,

CPU is gettin 64 CELSIUS! My 6 core went not higher then 48. Is this good? or bad ? I try'd to overclock it automatic with the ai suite 2.

He went to 4.3 and the temps are rising to 68 then i stopped. What is the problem? I have no watercooling, BIG tower with 7 case fans, 4 left side, 1 upper, 1 back, new Hyper 103 CPU cooler from coolermaster.

What is the max temperature for the cpu with full load?

Max temp for that CPU is rated at 70C. If it's getting that high in Prime95, then it shouldn't be that bad in real world operation, as Prime95(or other CPU load test programs) are artificial load makers and they load the CPU down more than real world operation.

Edit: Also read by Core Temperature in the program you're using. Socket(a.k.a package) temps can read 10 to 15C higher on load than core temp.

So what is your point? Dont use prime95? AI alerts cpu temperature at 65 celsius,im getting affraid.......thought my case was good enough.Spend alot of money on it. But atm the weather is also hot here. Maybe that is also an issue.

or my cpu cooler scks....

Prime95 is a load tester and that's what it does. If it doesn't get past 66C after running it for 3 minutes you should be good. Also read by core temp, not socket or package temp as that thermistor is on the motherboard in the CPU socket, which can be affected by a mass of warm air that exists between the CPU and socket. I think AI may use socket temp as it's part of the motherboard. Also some software likes it because socket temp is more accurate at idle, whereas core temp is accurate under load.

Try reading temps with Core Temp instead of AI http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/ Close out of AI first, they can conflict. I really think AI is reading socket temps.

The Hyper 103 maybe a bit underpowered for the 8350.

Oke, the Core temp stays at 49 Celcius, speedfan says 64 Celcius.....i dont know what to believe. And what is a better air cpu cooler then the one i have now?
