I need help creating a $1000 gaming PC. I want something that will run games like Battlefield 3 on ultra. If you could include the monitor and OS that would be great!

I have this, with no dvd/cd drive (you can pick a cheap external one at the store, but I can just pick one out for you that goes into the case if you want, its just that most people don't bother with them these days), and no monitor, but the OS is included. It is at your $1000ish price, but I didn't include a monitor simply because I simply am not a monitor guy.

If you need me to change some things or cut down the price, I can easily do so, just let me know. It features components made to run Battlefield 4 on ultra. You could use a $40 SSD for your boot drive (windows would be really fast on the ssd, but there would be little room for anything on it since I would be keeping the price down. I would use the HDD I chose and an SSD if you can, but again, that is just an option).

That RAM is on sale and is a really good deal as it it very fast and will benefit you in Battlefield 4. The PSU is also on sale with a promo code. If the sale ends before you buy, let me know.

The PSU is unreliable, that case is really really bad. That motherboard also seems to be missing the VRM heatsinks.

PSU has a 4.5 average out of 127 ratings, so I don't know where you're getting "unreliable" from. The case also has a 4.6 average rating.

As far as the VRM heatsink goes, I doubt that's an issue, as I can't seem to find a single complaint about it lacking anywhere.

Anything else you want to mention?

I have seen issues with the lack of VRM heat sinks and CPU's having to throttle. And just about everyone on tomshardware hates that PSU. Soooo many people here say to not get that PSU, and to get the XFX TS 550w. CX PSU's come with cheap internals and are not meant for medium to heavy usage. That case, well, lets just say that it is as low end it gets. I know SR-71 blackbird said that case was of low quality. The reviews may be good as it isn't terrible for the price, but i really is low end case and If you are going $1000 on a pc, I recommend getting something a little bit nicer.

When it comes to power supplies, this forum is a little overcautious. I understand it is a very important part of any PC system, but it's not a Raidmax or some other off-brand explosive POS. Besides, this build isn't going to be overclocking anyway.
I've never heard of a VRM heatsink causing throttling on a CPU, but I suppose it's possible.

The case is basically cosmetic, I'm somebody that prefers to dump everything I can into components that make a difference in performance, and short of a cardboard box, as long as the cooling is decent and it isn't dangerous, the case can be anything. When you have a budget, you have to cut some corners somewhere.

Really, OP can go with whatever they prefer, all this is is a simple suggestion.

Lol I am going to pretend to build a budget pc in a cardboard box and pretend that is the build he is paying for. Cardboard PC cases should be a thing hahaha

Looks like some people have already had that idea.
