I purchased a EVGA GTX 770 and when I plugged it in and it would power on literally for less than a second but then would automatically shut off and not come back on. At first I thought it was just a dead card (I have a Corsair CX600M so it SHOULD be enough power). So I exchanged it for a MSI GTX 770. Still the same problem. Do you guys think I have faulty wires (I bought two 8-pin power cables off Amazon, it's very unlikely they both are faulty) ? Or do I need a new power supply? Or a new anything?

If you're using adapters it sounds like that may be the issue. During the POST the system runs the GPU/CPU to max load so that could be whats going on is a power supply issue. Theoretically 600w is enough power, but if the 12v rail isn't enough for the GPU that could cause this issue. It also could be not happy using those adapters. I'd get a GPU that has those 8 pin connectors you need.
