I am building a high-end gaming Rig, and have a few uncertainties, but first here are my certainties when it comes to core components (not counting storage)
EVGA SC GTX 760 2GB ACX Cooler GPU (2x SLI)-
$500
Enermax ETS-T40-BK Black 120mm Twister CPU Cooler-
$50
MSI Z87-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX MOBO-
$135
Corsair HX750w Gold Cert PSU-
$120

Now, here are my choices when it comes to the CPU
i5-4670K-
$325
i7-4770K-
$235
And RAM
Trident X 8GB (2x4) 2400-
$87
Trident X 16GB (2x8) 2400-
$190
Sniper 8GB (2x4) 2400-
$85
Sniper 16GB (2x8) 2400-
$165
Sniper 8GB (2x4) 2133-
$85
Sniper 16GB (2x8) 2133-
$160

Which combination do you think will prove the best Price-Performance? Right now I am thinking the i5-4760K and the Trident X 8GB 2400 ($327) compared to the i7-4770K and the Trident X 16GB 2400 ($524), which was going to be my original purchase before I realized how much money I was going to use unnecessarily.

Solution
4670K and the 16GB Snipers in 2133 (if going Z*& would also change the mobo to the Z87-A from Asus (or better the Z97-A (also Asus), the Z97 will OC better and leave you open to upgrading to the Haswell Refresh CPUs or the Broadwell CPUs when they come out in the future

It depends. I plan on sepending. 600 USD on custom watercooling and wire sleeving (Red/Black), so the best overclocking mobo would be best. Plus the AsRock KillerX had a nice -25 USD combo with the i5-4690K. It depends on my final paycheck for my summer job (only 17 BTW, so a schooltime job may/may not happen, depends on homework influx).

I'd put the money into the 4790K and the Z79 Hero, should have no need for water cooling unless planning to try and run over 5GHz (which isn't all that likely, I have a 4770K at 4.8 on my Z97 Hero and it's fine with a CM GTS V8, the 4790K should run cooler with the new TIM so if you get a good CPU should have no problem on air with 4.8-4.9. It's primarily the CPU and the luck of the silicon lottery as to how high you can go ;)

Well, it might seem silly, but the 450 USD Water Cooler is also partly for astheical purposes. Embarrassed to admit it it but glowings pipes with red liquid (lit by custom LEDs) would look so cook, and also give me experience in PC modding (along with painting my case/parts to go with the asthetic). I will think on it though. Still have a month till paycheck.
