Hello!
So I've been doing some things and a couple questions have arisen in my mind.
One: What does a CPU actually do? Please give an example.
Two: What is a GPU clock speed, what does it mean?
Also, I found an EVGA GTX 770 with a higher clock speed than a GTX 780...what?

Solution
CPU is just a chip that will process data in your computer in basic layman terms, the guy above me gave a good example but didn't touch the clock speed question. Clock speed is just the speed at which the CPU(and the CPU in the GPU) can execute each process, thus the fast the clock speed the fast it can process data/info through it. But! I would suggest you read this article before going off and buying a new GPU just because the clockspeed is better.

CPU is the processor, it's responsible for all mathematical calculation in you PC. And those can get in a number of millions depending on frequency. One and maybe the most important part for you PC. Completely in-operable without a CPU
GPU is the processor on the graphics/ video card. Like a tiny CPU in your video card. Responsible for the processes necessary for rendering visual effects in video games, resolution, quality, frames per second. A good amount of VRAM is also needed. Just like a CPU, these GPU's can come overclocked or not, depending on the manufacturer or design of the graphics card.
