Got a small problem here- I'm in the middle of overclocking my 4770k on my Gigabyte UD4H motherboard with H100i cooler, and so far I believe I've raised the core voltage to 1.2 volts- CPU-Z and Coretemp seem to corroborate my story. My problem is that HWMonitor, under CPUVcore shows a value of 1.776 V, which I know is too high? Is something happening here that I'm not aware of? Help is appreciated, thanks a lot for your time.

HWMonitor may not give you accurate information. You can trust CPU-Z, Core Temp and Real Temp.
