When I turn it on, all the fans are running, but nothing comes up on the screen. The CPU led on the motherboard stays a solid red.

I am very new to building computers. When I first put it together I didn't have the new CPU or graphics card yet, so I tried putting in my old one. It didn't go in easy, so I kind of pushed it in there, which I now know is a bad thing to do. Needless to say it didn't work. It turns out that I had bent some of the pins in the old CPU when I took it out of the old motherboard, which is why it didn't go in easily. So I figured no big deal, I'll just wait till my new cpu and video card comes and put that in there.

Well the new CPU and video card came. I put them in. It doesn't work. I triple checked the pins on the new CPU, none are bent and it was placed correctly. Everything is hooked up right, and the CPU is compatible with the motherboard. I did have to assemble everything sitting on a carpet, but I was using an antistatic wristband and I did not place anything directly on the carpet.
When I turn it on, the fans go on, the power led goes on, the CPU led turns a solid red, and I hear a boop boop. Nothing shows up on the screen. I have a friend who's good with computers that agreed to look at it tomorrow, but I figured I might as well ask here too in case he can't figure it out.

Specs:

Cpu: AMD 8350FX with stock cooler (new)
MB: ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 (new)
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 16gb(2x8) 1600MHz (new)
Graphics: Geforce GT 740 (new)
Power: diaboltek 575w (a few years old)
I don't know the brand of HDD, but I have a 250gb one and a 500gb one (both a few years old)
OS: Windows 7 64bit
No idea what type of case I have. It was given to me as a gift. It's red and looks like a Ferrari, has three fans built into the case, and has blue led around the fans. (a few years old)

I have tried everything from here: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1893016/post-system-...

Except for breadboarding (don't have an insulated surface readily available) and troubleshooting the PSU (paranoid about being shocked or breaking something)

Probably not the issue BUT THAT POWER SUPPLY is horrible quality.
