so got a new build (in sig), and i stress tested my 4790k with coolermaster 212 evo, at first with intel turbo at 4.4ghz full load it reached 99 degrees celsius (, i remounted my cooler (I did it properly) and my temps were the same. i turned intel turbo off and now it is at 4.0ghz on full load (stock speed) and my idle temp is arouind 35-40 and max load is 75-83 degrees which is much better then before.

what do u guys think the problem is my heatsink or cpu. im going to get a h100i tmmrw and try it with that and see wat happens.

and are these normal temps with the hypercrapper?

did you re-apply the thermal paste after you re-mounted the cooler? and what paste are you using?

Your idle temp is normal and says that you have mounted the cooler properly.

How is your case ventilation?
Sufficiently fast fans moving the hot air out?
Take the side covers off and direct a house fan at the innards. See how much that helps.

What is your vcore? If it is past 1.25v, you are going to get heat. If it is past 1.30v. , that is about the limit you want to prevent damage.

Another thing I have found is that ram running at higher speeds needing 1.65v causes temps to rise.
Try reducing your ram speed to 1600 and 1.5v.
It will not hurt real app performance or fps.

What are you using to stress test? I have been pleased with OCCT.

vcore is about 1.1-1.2ish when under full load i set everything to auto but disabled turbo boost. my ram is at 1866mhz 16gb 1.5v. i use prime 95 to stress test. i used aida64 aswell and those cpu temps were way way lower.

around 80 degrees when i had turbo on im installing a game right now but when im done i will do a quick 10 mins stability test

im also used small ftts with prime 95 which prouduces the most heat

Use Prime95 Version 26.6. It's pre-AVX so it won't over-stress Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell or Devil's Canyon.

Prime95 28.5 runs Advanced Vector eXtensions, which is extremely Floating Point Unit (the math co-processor in your CPU) intensive.

Depending on Vcore and clock speed, AVX code can push temperatures to throttle (TjMax) at 100c. This is why you should run Prime95 26.6: - http://windows-downloads-center.blogspot.com/2011/04/pr...
