Is it normal to have a solid orange light and flashing green light on ethernet adaptor, The PC is linked to a ethernet to fiber adaptor before going to the companies ICSS. When the network cable is unplgged the orange light stays on, could this be due to it being half duplex? or i have read that it may be because of the speed of connection.

If the orange light stays on when nothing is connected does that indicate a problem with the ethernet adaptor?

Any help please

Usually the orange light on an ethernet adapter means connection speed of 1000Mb/s or it can mean connected at half duplex. Either way it should go out when no cable is plugged into it. Now every adapter is different. Maybe it means something else on your adapter, possibly it only means you have power to the adapter. Can't tell you for sure, you would have to look it up in your adapter manual. I have just never seen an adapter where the orange light did not mean speed or duplex.
