Overclocking RAM help

It depends on the board. Some boards will get totally locked up on a bad RAM OC and need resetting CMOS. Some boards are smarter and will detect failed OC setting automatically. Best know how just in case.

i have a msi 970A-43G. Will that detect a bad OC?

Looks very minimal to me. I doubt it has much as far as OC features.
 


My feelings are being torn right now over EVGA. On one hand, they have the best quality PSUs out there for the money. But the graphics card department totally crapped all over Unwinder. I hope they resolve that.

yah thats my board. I wasn't really planing on overclocking at the time and now i dont have the money to get a better motherboard. ill upgrade when ddr4 comes out, im sure prices will drop.

can it fry my pc if i overclock to 1600 10-10-10-27? im doing it right now but i dont want to apply it if it can destroy my pc.

I oc my ram and it was running at 1400 something and i set it for 1600. i rebooted my pc again and when't and checked everything and now its running at 1333 again.
