Overclocking RAM help

i have 4gb ddr3 1333MHz RAM and i wanted to know how to overclock and if its worth doing.

Thats the same one i have but without a heat sync.

I'm sorry but those ADATA sticks are not known as good overclockers. You could try tightening timings, but likely you won't get far.

Could try, set to 1600 10-10-10-27, DRAM voltage 1.575

Go into BIOS and manually change the freq, timings and DRAM voltage

Be sure to know how to Clear CMOS when tuning RAM, as often a board won't POST when you have gone too far.

It depends on the board. Some boards will get totally locked up on a bad RAM OC and need resetting CMOS. Some boards are smarter and will detect failed OC setting automatically. Best know how just in case.

i have a msi 970A-43G. Will that detect a bad OC?

Nice PSU! I bet it runs very cool too.

It looks like the same rough finish as on my Capstone. Hopefully your stickers don't peel themselves off like mine did ><

My feelings are being torn right now over EVGA. On one hand, they have the best quality PSUs out there for the money. But the graphics card department totally crapped all over Unwinder. I hope they resolve that.

yah thats my board. I wasn't really planing on overclocking at the time and now i dont have the money to get a better motherboard. ill upgrade when ddr4 comes out, im sure prices will drop.

I think 1600CL9 or maybe even CL8 if you are lucky. CL7 Is only possbible on the best 4GB sticks and 1600CL6 was only doable on the best 2GB sticks.

I oc my ram and it was running at 1400 something and i set it for 1600. i rebooted my pc again and when't and checked everything and now its running at 1333 again.
