Hello there, I have a couple of quick questions:
Do I have to do a BIOS update before installing the new CPU?
I have never replaced anything in my computer, could someone please explain to me the very steps I will have to go through to replace my CPU and graphics card. Like should I replace my CPU first and then my graphics card? Both at the same time? Graphics card first? What about drivers? I have watched numerous amount of vids about replacing a CPU and graphics card but considering the fact that I have a built in graphics card, does this complicate anything?
New CPU: AMD Athlon X4 760k
New GPU: MSI R7 260X 2gb DDR5
Current motherboard: MSI FM2-A55M-P33
Current CPU/GPU: AMD FM2 A6-5400K Dual Core 3,6GHz - AMD Radeon HD 7540D
Current BIOS version (taken from msinfo32): American Megatrends Inc. V10.2, 14-12-2012
Link to motherboard on MSI website:
http://www.msi.com/product/mb/FM2A55MP33.html#hero-specification
I checked the MSI website, but I dont really know where to look for if my current BIOS version will support my new CPU.
Thanks in advance.
