Hey there so i was wondering if you guys could tell me if this ram will compatible with my amd fx-6300
i want to buy this ram Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4 GB (1 x 4 GB) PC RAM (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
http://www.snapdeal.com/product/corsair-vengeance-ddr3-4-gb/2010360135#ReviewHeader
on the online site it says it is compatible with intel cpu and works dual channel on intel platform
so what about amdfx-6300 also I have asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard if i buy 2 rams of those it will support dual channel or not?????

Solution
The answer is MAYBE.

You do not want to mix RAM. If you buy them one stick at a time, then they are tested and guaranteed to work in single channel. Buying two does not guarantee that they will work in dual channel. Buying two separate sticks of the same make and model also does not guarantee that they will work in dual channel out of the box.

Best to buy a kit of 2x4GB so they are tested and guaranteed to work in dual channel.

Solution
yes it will support your motherboard actually ram compatibility is measured with the motherboard and not with the processor...its written as supported on all Intel i3,i5and i7 because in India most of the people recognize processor as Intel 13 /i5 and 17 ...amd is not so popular here..

Check out the QVL list from Asus regarding memory for your MB

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97_R20/HelpDesk_QVL/

I def try to stick with whats been tested and qualified by the manufacturer.

Hi, looks like snapdeal.. I'm from India too.. Absolutely, you'll have no problem with that RAM, as your CPU supports upto 1866MHz of RAM and your motherboard supports 2333MHz of RAM.. Since that RAM is 1600MHz, it'll work fine.. If you buy two of them, make sure you install them in either 1st & 3rd slot (or) 2nd & 4th slot.. Then only it'll work in dual channel.. (SO only, the 4 RAM slots in mobo are differently coloured in pairs)..

If you have doubt whether they're working in dual channel or not, download and install the latest version of CPU-Z from this link http://filehippo.com/download_cpuz and open the software, then go to the Memory tab. There under the generalsection you'll find whether it is dual or single as below..

Im will buy the same ram at a time but i will order two of them will it fine then?

Yes, buying two separate 4 GB sticks does not guarantee you the dual channel..

There is no guarantee that two 1x4GB came off the same assembly line and they are definitely NOT tested to work together. There is a good chance that they will work out of the box, but it is not guaranteed. Your best bet is to buy 2x4GB as a kit.

If you do buy two sets of 1x4GB and they do not work in dual channel out of the box, you will have to fiddle a bit with the timings and voltage of the RAM. But again, buying a kit of 2x4GB will just save a lot of inconvenience in set up.

bhai shall i buy this it will work fine ? Im ordering 2 of them not kit?

There is a CHANCE and not GUARANTEE.. Because, I've experience that buying two separate sticks worked in dual channel for me but not for my friends.. I just informed you to check whether you've single or dual channel.. Sorry for my English if I am wrong..:D

If you're ok with flipkart, just go for this RAM.. It was exactly the same product but made to work in dual channel..

The difference is in model number, CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 is the one you said.. CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R is the one i said.. The only changes are 8G (implying 8 GB) and M2 (implying module 2 - two sticks) and R is for red colour.. Your risks of running dual channel in this product is ZERO..
