Could you undervolt a fx 8300/20/50 to lets say 2GHz.
There are lots of games that dont care about CPU but focus hardly on GPU.
I mean why spend Watts useless unless needed.
Why coulnt you sinply have game profilles that are game oriented
I mean a profile for tomb raider 3
Oc the GPU and Uc the CPU that sort of things.

I dont know why you would want to do that, as the fx individual core speed is incredibly slow to start of with, and the only this that makes these CPUs playable on is their clock speeds and core count. BUT if you have your heart set on lowering the clock speeds, you can use the amd catalyst program. This program should allow you to limit the maximum and minimum core speeds, so just a just the slider and bam, 2ghz. It should be under the power tab. Although ive never tried it, you should also be able to underclock/volt via the bios, the same way you overclock, except changing the values to lower. You will have to play around with the voltage and stuff until you are happy though.
