PC audio upgrade suggestions

With the budget of around 300$ I want upgrade my systems audio. Right now I use mother board sound card and Logitech Z313. I was looking at Logitech Z623.

Is it worth buying a sound card? Will I see a difference with the a sound card?

Is Creative SB1350 a good sound card?

You will notice a change, but the best experience is achieved if you combine the sound card with a quality headphones, and also if the music you hear is high-quality encoded.

For this, the ASUS Xonar series are really good.

The thing is I want only speakers no head phones :/

So.. what should I do?
Is just the speaker better or should I go for a sound card?
