Issues with system power cycling 2-3 times before finally booting.

While I noticed this problem once before after changing my setting for overclocking, it only became more noticable after upgrading to the latest bios on my maximus gene vii board. I have since tried to just load to optimized defaults but the problem still occurs.

The system fully powers up but doesn't have enough time to actually post anything before powering off and restarting once again. By this I mean the case lights come on, the fans start up, and then 3 seconds later it shuts off and then restarts again.

I've run memtest86 and everything checks out, I've even removed my GPU and the problem still happens. I don't think its a powersupply problem but I haven't completely ruled that out yet.

anyone else run into similar issues perhaps not with this specific motherboard but in general?

I had a similar problem where my system would not post on a cold boot until i hit the restart button i eventually fixed it, it ended up being a driver problem. But my problem was a bit different than what you described.

I would say its most likely a problem with drivers, motherboard, or power supply.

hmm interesting...well I don't think its a PSU problem..but in any case, I just ordered an EVGA Super Nova 850W G2 simply because it was on sale, had a rebate and I had amazon promo $$ to use. I'll see what happens when I swap that in there. From what I've been able to gather it seems like other people had this problem after overclocking and the board is simply resetting itself to find good settings to boot from...but who knows.

They denied my warranty for a on the gene vi board I had. Saying it was customer induced damage. which it was not..I don't think I'd break a $200 board by carelessness. They didn't even response after I pressed the issue outside of saying they could ''repair it'' for $150 + shipping.

For something that has not happened before it baffles me that he would say its normal..despite me saying the problem just started. I'm seriously done with their products. I'm switching back to EVGA. Their support is great, their a U.S. based company, and their warranty process is easy.
