Hello, my motherboard was Foxconn H61MXV and for a reason that nobody expains me my new Powercolor R7 250X GPU didn't work for my motherboard so i bought a new one. Now i m thinking of build a new PC on my old motherboard but i am afraid if GPU won't work again, how can i understand if the GPU will work?

Solution
That's really an odd one. Did you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard? I've heard of weird issues like this that are solved by a BIOS update. Since the 250X is probably a very popular budget card, I'm sure that Foxconn was made aware of it, so you would think they've come up with a fix.
Well if that motherboard was in a home built system and not an OEM system, I don't know why it wouldn't have worked with the 250X.

Now if this is a stripped down version in an OEM machine, its possible that there was a problem with the BIOS detecting it. However a BIOS update would likely have fixed that.

Did the 250X work in another system? If so, what power supply did you have in the system with the Foxconn motherboard in? It's possible that your system didn't have enough power to spare to power your 250X.

Yeah the GPU worked on other systems, also other GPUs worked on Foxconn but maybe the 250X was quitte new for my motherboard, i had 550W power supply so no problem with that!

Maybe that's the problem, i bought my motherboard at 2011 and my 250X before some months so might be the BIOS version... Everyone who tryied to fix it said that is the 1st time he sees something like that and no1 said anything about BIOS. We tryied other GPUs and worked on my system, we tryied 250X to other system also worked...
Thank you for your help!!!

They answer me from Foxconn:

I guess problem might be the UEFI compatible problem to MB BIOS. You can try check below points:
1. Updating MB BIOS to the newest version.

2. Please check if there is a “PCI ROM Priority” option in the MB BIOS setting, please change it to “Legacy ROM” then save and exit.

3. Last way, choosing the non UEFI function support graphic card to use.

Well for my main system i changed motherboard and i bought an Asrock H61M-GS cause of my GPU problem and everything ok. Now i wanna build a second system on my Foxconn, i will send the motherboard for BIOS update and today i just bought 2 of these RAM https://www.skroutz.gr/s/4343583/Kingston-ValueRAM-2GB-DDR3-1333MHz-KVR13N9S6-2.html?from=account_favorites

and soon i will buy a processor, maybe Intel Pentium G2020 2.90Ghz and later a GPU maybe Gigabyte Radeon R7 240 2GB OC.

But i am still afraid of GPU, i mean if it will work right!
