Computer won't turn on

When I press the power button on my computer nothing happens, the USB ports work and power.

Sounds as though your PSU is failing. Try a different one, or borrow a friends to test with.

Sincreator, ok thats weird as the usb ports work and the computer shut of during a game and the computer was very hot and I let it cool down and thought that would work

Well your PSU could also be overheating. Grab a can of compressed air and blow the dust out your power supply. What is your make and model of power supply?

It is possible to have certain rails work, and others to fail. I suspect that is the problem here honestly.

i think its his motherboard or cpu. i recently found a pc i took it apart and set it up without a case. my screen remained black but the psu fan was spinning and i knew the psu was good. i used the same pentium in my last experiment and the same thing happened. its either the cpu or motherboard.

I'm not saying that it is the PSU 100% for sure, but it is the best place to look first since issues like this are usually power supply related. You may end up being right though in the end. :p
