Hi guys,

I checked an email from a friend but it turned out to be a fake. I didn't think to much about it and later turned my computer off. The next morning when I got on it went right into windows recovery mode. It tried to do a startup repair, but to no avail. I took my HDD out and plugged it into a desktop and all my data shows up fine, I can access all the drives. I've scanned it with Malwarebytes (externally) and it found nothing. I've run a chkdsk on it as well. The right system is active and the partitions are NTFS.

System Information: Acer Aspire 5720Z with Vista.

Any help would be appreciated!

place it back in it's computer, and try booting off of the OS DVD, and doing a repair.

anonymous1,

I've tried that multiple times, and unfortunately it fails every time. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Backup everything... then reload the OS... better yet time to upgrade from vista.
