hey i cant get my cpu fan speed to slow down. its always spinning at 2339 power of fan at 10% or 100% its always at 2339. my cpu is an i7 4820k on an asus rampage iv gene motherboard and im using a corsair h100i to cool it. i am not currently using corsair link because im using an rm series power supply and i didnt realize i needed an additional cable to connect corsair link to rm power supply. the first few days after building my computer the fan seemed fine but i must have accidently changed something somewhere because now its always spinning high. cpu is overclocked at 4.5 idle temp is 32/33 any help is greatly appreciated if the only way to fix it is to get corsair link running i can buy the cable.

OK. So being that I dont have your pc here. If you can manage to upgrade your Asus AI suite from 2 to 3, it will give you the fan xpert2 program. There are several posts stating that xpert1 dose not control 3 pin fans. There are x79 boards that have suite3 like the x79 deluxe. So in theory it will work on yours. I will continue to dig on this subject.

Check the Mobo spec sheet to see if the fan plug is a constant value 12v or if its a variable speed connector. Also, make sure the pump is plugged into a constant 12v connector. You want the pump running at 100% power.

From what corsairs website says the stock H100i fans are not the pwm versions. Swapping them out for the pwm ones should alleviate your issues. You can try the link cable for sure. The hardware monitor from the MB should allow for power scaling the fans with CPU temps. I will look into the monitor further.

i have 4 fans. 2 chassis fans. 2 fans on h100i. i looked at the fan expert but it only lets me change fan power levels. every power level is the same fan speed though. also just downloaded speed fan. when i looked at my cpu temp it would change to 120 or so then sometimes change to -60. realtemp always stays between 30-40 when not under load. is it possible something is not hooked up right and my cpu temp isnt accurate. i did not apply thermal past as the h100i is suppose to have preapplied thermal paste on it.
