I get a message 'disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter. Only I dont have system disk because I upgraded from vista to windows 7 home premium. what next?
oh I am a bit of a technophobe so if you could bear that in mind when answering
The message is telling you that the computer is getting errors trying to read your hard drive. Boot from your Windows 7 install disc or a repair disc and do a repair.

Good luck.
Thanks for reply. I do not have an install disc as I upgraded from vista was was already installed. I don't have a repair disc. I do have a seagate external disk if that makes any diff
ya I had repaired a vista 64 on a XP32 rig and it did work at least to keep me going as I shopped around for this new build and I took my sweet time funny thing was I had the disk and could not repair but when I put the drive on with the xp and then ran the check disk from off xp it fix it so I wondered if I had another vista 64 rig here if it would of did a better repair job on it
but in the end it was back to being able to boot and stayed that way till I shut her down for good.
